Piero Iamartino Appointed as Executive Director of the EIPG

Piero Iamartino, a long-standing leader within EIPG and former President of the association, has been appointed Executive Director effective 1 October 2025. With more than two decades dedicated to advancing the role of industrial pharmacists in Europe, he will now guide the implementation of EIPG’s strategic plan and support the organisation in addressing the technological and regulatory challenges shaping the future of the pharmaceutical sector.

The European Industrial Pharmacists Group (EIPG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Piero Iamartino as its new Executive Director, effective 1 October 2025.

For more than twenty years, Mr Iamartino has served as the Italian delegate representing the AFI (Associazione Farmaceutici Industria) within EIPG. Throughout this period, he has played a key role in advancing the mission of EIPG, actively participating in initiatives that strengthen the recognition and influence of industrial pharmacists across Europe.

Over the past two decades, he held the position of Vice President of Technical and Professional Development, where he made substantial contributions through the preparation of position papers, presentations, and by serving as an EIPG spokesperson in high-level European meetings with authorities and partner associations in the pharmaceutical sector.

In 2022, Mr Iamartino was elected President of EIPG, where he completed his three-year mandate. During his presidency, he launched new initiatives, expanded EIPG’s visibility, and supported membership growth among national associations across Europe.

With his appointment as Executive Director, Mr Iamartino will continue to utilise his extensive expertise in service to the President and the Bureau of EIPG. His mission will be to facilitate the implementation of EIPG’s strategic plan, designed to strengthen the role of industrial pharmacists in Europe as they face new technological and regulatory challenges shaping the pharmaceutical industry.
